Rupert Coe assists Appleby in successful defence of major Cayman Islands proceedings

On 22 October 2026, judgment was handed down in Kuwait Ports Authority and others v Walkers (a firm) and Walkers (Dubai) Limited Liability Partnership (FSD 97 of 2021 (RPJ)).  Following a three-month trial in the Financial Services Division of the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands, the Hon. Justice Parker dismissed every claim brought against the Second Defendant including claims in fiduciary duty and negligence. All claims against the First Defendant had been abandoned during the trial.

Rupert Coe worked closely with the Appleby team, including assisting with the trial from February-May 2026.  The Appleby team was led by Sebastian Said and Susan Fallan, with Ben Hubble KC appearing as leading counsel at trial.
