Overview
Ian is a very experienced Silk, specialising in commercial dispute resolution and arbitration, commercial Chancery and private client/traditional Chancery work.
He operates both domestically and internationally, particularly in the Far East, the Caribbean and the Isle of Man. His long experience makes him adept at co-ordinating and directing the work of teams of lawyers engaged in inter-related disputes across several different jurisdictions.
Ian is particularly known for cases requiring a high degree of numeracy. He also understands, better than most, what it feels like to be a client, having worked for some years as a Director of an algorithmic Hedge Fund.
Much of his work is for international corporations but he also numbers among his clients politicians, princes and popstars.
Ian is a keen supporter of activities to encourage students from all backgrounds to consider a career at the Bar. He was the Autumn Reader of the Middle Temple in 2021, an ancient office of the Inn providing support and guidance for its education work and student membership.
